Outta the ashes

Introduction :

This poem is kinda of a sequel or continuation of the poem “Burnt me down”.

The idea of a fire burning down all purpose and is continued here as I rise “Outta the ashes” of the said fire (almost like the Phoenix does) in order to prove my strength because no matter how much anyone tries to drag me down, I will stand tall and proud.

“Outta the ashes”

I’m laying crumpled on the ground
And choking on the cider of my purpose.
My ears can hear no sound
Except echoes of yells in a scene horrendous.

You treated my dreams as dross
And lit an uncontrollable fire to my efforts for achieving those dreams.
If you expect me not to be cross
With you now, then your mind must be tearing at the seams.

I’ve never been one for revenge
Until you came and burnt me down.
I’ve never been mean or savage
Until you stole my crown.

The fire’s gone, the smouldering has stopped
And the juro you decided to call has stopped his flack.
But all this destruction has brought
A thirst for revival and payback.

Because I can build a manor out of debris,
I can play a better lyre than you.
So sweetie don’t you be so carefree
Because I’m coming for you.

The only fire burning is now in my eyes
As outta the ashes of your flames I rise.
